The Speaker of Edo House of Assembly Rt Hon. Adjoto Kabiru has promised that Assembly will liaise with the executive arm, to find a way of bringing to an end, the lingering pensions crisis in the state.

Hon. Kabiru made this promise on Monday (21st August) when he received state and local government pensioners in the who professed to the house, urging it to made into their plight of their unpaid pension arrears.

He commended the pensioner for the peaceful manners; they conducted themselves even in the face of provocation, adding that it was good to always use the right words, in times of anger.

Earlier, a spokesman for the pensioners Barr. Gabriel Osemwenkhai explained to the speaker, the untold hardship and sufferings, the pensioners were going through, as some of them had died.

He told the speaker that the pensioners have be silent in pains because there was no money but now that the Federal Government has released the excels Paris club find which the president General Buhari Mandated all governors to use for the payment of pensioners gratuity and salaries of worker, they will be on the street until the governor Mr. G.O. Obaseki pays them their gratuities and pensions.

He informed the speaker that the Federal Government has released the fund thrice totaling over 29 billion naira for the purpose and pleaded with Mr. Speaker to prevail on the Government to pay them their entitlement.
